SOME OF MY POEMS

FIRST EASTER’S DAWN

In front of the

still hidden and dark grave,

a robin aspen…

Gloriously,

His duty accomplished,

– how much relief

and sweetness of His New Flesh! – (1)

simply He folds his own cloth,

He leaves the sudarium and

relics lying on the ground,

like a humblest sign

for the men who will

believe by heart

…above the now empty,

silent grave,

the robin  very high  trill! (2)

(1) His glorified Body which, at first, was unrecognizable to those He knew.

(2) According to a legend, in the day of the Crucifixion a sparrow alighted on the Cross of Christ. A drop of the Holy Blood fell on the bird, which became the robin. I imagine this robin, in front of the grave, waiting for the Resurrection and, after, flights and trills when Jesus rises again.
