ITALIAN BOWLING GAME, DREAMING – KENOSIS(4)

Where? Unknown country.

When? I did not know.

In the middle of

one dry rectangle...

an Italian-bowling ground.

Not a murmur, in the still air, or, perhaps,

never born.

Dry trees around the ground.

Lonely.

Suddenly, a breeze, very, very sweet.

One presence, at my back.

I turn around and I...

I see the Christ,

Jesus the King!

He tells me: "Guido, do you wish to play?".

"I'm not able, God, to play this game".

He: "Come on! Come

here to play!".

And we begin the game.

Christ pitch his "bòccia" (5) , I pitch mine, and, oddly,

I score easily;

and our Lord too,

of course.

Now we are equal,

the last pitch is mine...

... I launch my wood-ball like a rocket...

and... and... I WIN the game!

Christ smiles His infinite happiness.

(4) In theology, the kenosis is the lowering in total of God during the Incarnation of Christ the Son, to the purpose of the divinization of the men.

(5) Italian language: every wood-ball in the Italian bowling game.
